Coast2Coast 2012 "Social"

Believe it or not, this will be the fifteenth year that Coast2Coast has been run and in that time we have travelled through England, Scotland and Wales on varied routes in the pursuit of quiet rural roads, cream teas, fish & chips and maybe a paddle at the seaside to finish.

C2C has gradually grown in popularity as a fun weekend away for all and now has evolved year by year into something greater. With this in mind we have decided to do things slightly differently this year and, instead of driving large distances in convoy over the weekend, we will base ourselves in the beautiful south Lakeland area where there is plenty of sightseeing, walking, places of interest and great roads to drive. This year the C2C weekend will work in a similar way to our previous stays at Nethybridge in the Highlands, when smaller groups or individual cars go off for days out before we all meet up again for the evening meal. No doubt there will be some who want to drive the more challenging roads that the area offers but other members enjoy the social aspect of club events and have expressed a desire to do their own thing.

We may be suggesting driving routes although we won’t be leading large groups of cars this year as we have in the past, as it is becoming more difficult to keep so many cars together. For those who want a good day out at a more leisurely pace however we will be based in an area with lots to see and do.

Our base this year will be at a sister hotel to the Nethybridge, The Cumbria Grand at Grange-over-Sands, set in twenty acres of private gardens and woodland, overlooking Morecambe Bay. We have been offered an excellent deal for our stay. See below for details (prices are per person).
